Meet Jim Wellborn — affectionately known as Papa Jim. This book was born from a grandfather’s love and a desire to spark curiosity, kindness, and a spirit of adventure in the hearts of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Papa Jim created Trixie and Bubba’s Big Adventure as a gift — not just a story, but an experience filled with warmth, laughter, and life’s simple joys. His message to every child who reads it: “May your days be filled with curiosity, kindness, and a grand and glorious adventure.”

the book
Trixie is a spirited little Yorkshire Terrier with a big personality. Bubba is her best friend — a lovable bunny with ears that wiggle and a heart full of wonder. Together, they set off on the most exciting week of their lives!
From racing side by side at the fair, to hitting a hole-in-one on the golf course, playing tennis AND basketball (why choose one?), making music and writing their very own song, flying a kite that took them a little too high for comfort, floating in a safety balloon over the fairgrounds, and fishing by the water where nothing bit — but it was still the best time ever — Trixie and Bubba pack every moment with fun, friendship, and a few hilarious mishaps along the way.
At the end of it all, Bubba looks at Trixie and says, “When is our next adventure? This was the best week ever!!!”
